coming soon to a backroom near you. . .
I love this idea. The new supper club where people get together to eat dinner communally sans restaurant formality and expense. I don't expect there will be one anytime soon in the suburban wasteland where we dwell. Maybe you are fortunate to live in SF (hey, Marsh!) where you could check out The Ghetto Gourmet, or in Austin (hey, all of you Texas Marshalls it's practically in y'all's backyard) you can go to Supper Underground, or in New York, New York (hey Bill & Catherine!) drop by Homeslice West and get back to me with a review I can share in this space. I wonder if this has caught on in always-trendy Boulder yet? Erin?
An Inconvenient Truth

We finally watched it last night. I think I was putting it off because I am a frog in the warm water. Or just afraid that depression and its sidekick, paralysis, would take up residence here (after having been so recently evicted.) No worries! Al Gore is the man. My own reaction was to feel reenergized and called to action. If you have yet to see this movie, please put aside your own preconceptions and watch it. Today if possible.
Please.

I'm baaaaackk...
This has been a really nice vacay. The last two weeks have been spent spring cleaning, the house, the head, the heart, etc. There is still residual clutter but fresh air is flowing in. I love the *idea* of a blog, just as I like the idea of a profession. It is the day to day that is a real bitch. Basically, life in the moment is one massive sensory overload. Just trying to keep up with my parents, my kids, my friends, my relatives, my interests and current events is freaking impossible. I'm trying to put all my photos into digital format, learn photoshop, learn iPhoto, organize all my music and update my iPod (the coverflow feature is pretty cool btw.) This is a big task, made difficult by my deficit of attention. But I have to keep plugging away, after all, I only have to do this once- on a go forward basis it will be cake. Oh, that reminds me, I have to learn how to use the advanced features of my camera. My Dad thinks I am lazy about learning computer-related stuff. The truth is that with the warp speed that is modern life, it doesn't matter if you skip some things since they will be obsolete before you can afford the newest nicest techno toy you crave.
